June 2006 - Ben Morse becomes LPRC's latest International driver
Ben Morse joined the likes of Malcolm Goodman as LPRC's latest International driver after taking part in the JT250 European Championships in Kuhmo, Finland at the end of June.

Driving a newly designed prototype monohull in a field of 22 drivers from eight countries, he finished a very commendable 10th place after racing four heats over the two days on a large 5 buoy course.

Dad and mechanic Adrian (or Taff as he is known at the club) has had Ben try out a number of different boat designs in the 3 years that Ben has been racing. Now in his 4th year and current British National and Sprint Champion, plus the Junior Masters and Speed Record holder in the J250 class, the new boat was specifically designed to compete in the European equivalent class. Alterations will now be made to the boat to make it even more competitive ready for the 2007 championships to be held in Latvia.

Ben was awarded a Fair Play trophy in acknowledgement of his good sportsmanship and racing etiquette. As a 12 year old in a field of drivers between the ages of 9-16, Ben was driving in the toughest race of his career and it was a credit to him to have done so well in his first International event.
