T850/Monohull |

This class is limited to simple monohulls powered by standard stock outboard engines.
Powertrim is now permitted in the senior classes.
These are single hulled boats similar in design to a small ski boat.
The driver sits down to race it.

T850's are raced in club events where newcomers and existing racers have
a chance to brush up their boat handling and competitive skills, and in
national and international events.

Hydroplanes have twin hulls for the front part of the craft extending no more than
60 percent along the hull which then narrows to a single hull at the stern.
The driver either sits, kneels or lies down to race it.
The prefix 'O' denotes an open class. This means there are very few restrictions
regarding hull design, engine tuning and type of fuel used.

These are twin-hulled boats. The driver sits restrained inside a safety cell to race.
Some boats have an enclosed cab-over style cockpit.

These are twin-hulled boats. The driver sits restrained inside a safety cell to race.
Some boats have an enclosed cab-over style cockpit.
The prefix "S" denotes a sportsboat class. They have similar capacity limits to
the "O" (open) series, but engines must be unmodified standard production type.

Currently Lancashire Powerboat Racing Club is the home of many of
the UK's NS2000 boats and drivers.

J250 (Junior) |

This is a fantastic circuit racing class for young people, aged 9 to 16, to get started in
and with complete rigs costing less than £3500 it is a great entry level for powerboat racing.
The boats are small monohulls fitted with standard stock 15hp engines and are capable
of speeds of up to 35mph.

J250's are raced at club and national levels. Racing fleets of 12 to 14 boats are common,
the action is fast and competitive and provides an excellent opportunity for all of those
who compete to learn the skills of racing prior to progressing to the more senior classes.
